StarFish Medical is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Business Systems/Process QA Specialist to join our Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs (QARA) team. Reporting to the Director of QARA, the Business Systems/Process QA Specialist is an architect of efficiency working hand-in-hand with corporate departments to document their business systems and identify improvements, decode, enhance, and perfect their processes.

Location:

We prefer candidates to be situated at our Victoria location, given that most corporate departments operate from there. However, we are open to considering the right candidate if located in Toronto.

Total compensation range is expected to be:

$55,680 – $83,808 CAD for this position in British Columbia, with Ontario salary ranges slightly higher. Annual variable compensation tied to the completion of goals has a target which would be set in a range up to 8% of the base salary. Employees are also eligible to earn profit sharing

As a Business Systems/Process QA Specialist you will be:

  • Working with corporate departments to understand, map out and document their processes
  • Identifying any bottlenecks, duplication or inefficiencies which could be improved
  • Drafting SOPs and work instructions and gaining buy in and approval from process owners
  • Designing forms and templates where needed
  • Reviewing existing documentation with stakeholders to ensure it is maintained and accurate to current processes
  • Working with the learning team to design or update training for business processes
  • Working with supervisors and training coordinator to ensure that the correct people get trained on business processes
  • Providing instructor led training on the processes you have documented where appropriate
  • Communicating with the wider StarFish community about new or revised processes
  • Auditing business processes where areas of risk are identified
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supporting implementation of new business information systems
  • Supporting the wider QARA team as needed with tasks

Our ideal Business Systems/Process QA Specialist candidate brings:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience of developing and maintaining an ISO 9001 QMS
  • QMS auditing experience is preferred, and qualifications as an additional desirable feature
  • Familiarity with corporate business processes relating to accounting, HR, IT, etc. is preferred
  • Familiarity with ISO 27001 and/or ISO 13485 is desirable

StarFish Medical works with external compensation consultants annually to ensure our ranges reflect the market and our compensation philosophy. StarFish Medical utilizes a career framework that outlines the skills, abilities and behaviors that are required to move between levels of a job family. Placement within a range is based upon those skills, abilities, and behaviors. When candidates are assessed for the posted position, we may find that their skills are more aligned with a different level and will discuss that as a separate opportunity. That position may have a different pay range.
