Assembly and Service Technician Coop
The Manufacturing team at StarFish Medical, Victoria BC is actively looking for the right student to join our team for the Summer term (May 2025 – August 2025). The Assembly & Service Technician Coop will work within a high energy manufacturing team to document, assemble, test, and service a range of medical devices. This position requires you to be well organized, self-motivated and able to meet demanding shipping schedules. It is critical to demonstrate attention to detail for the assembly of medical devices. This position reports directly to the Production Manager.

Victoria, British Columbia.
Salary
Hourly rate is $21.90 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical and electrical assembly in accordance to company procedures which will require the use of adhesives, soldering irons, and various tools within the facility.
- Inspect incoming materials in accordance to item masters and company quality system.
- Follow quality control procedures to perform in-line testing to ensure quality standards are continually met.
- Document NCRs in accordance to company quality system.
- Follow all company health and safety policies and requirements including usage, care and storage of personal protective equipment.
- Provide support to other areas of the company including, but not limited to, Quality Assurance, Product Development and Supply Chain.
Qualifications
- Experience with mechanical assembly, electronic assembly, and system troubleshooting an asset.
- The ability to read and understand electronic and mechanical drawings, BOMs and technical work instructions.
- Microsoft experience with SharePoint and MRP software an asset.
- Ability to lift, pull and move parts with estimate weight of 15lbs.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to provide support to other departments/teams as required.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft) and experience with SharePoint and ERP software an asset.
