Finding and Accessing Alternative Funding for Your Medical Device Development Program, Tuesday October 1, 2013 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Part of the MDDC Educational Series.

Mark Drlik, StarFish Medical Mechanical Engineer, will be speaking to entrepreneurs, students and industry veterans on ways of accessing Canadian government funded programs like IRAP, SR&ED and Engage to accelerate Canadian medical device innovation and development.  “Helping device innovators ‘cross the chasm’ by leveraging resources is instrumental to new product development.  I hope to share my knowledge from years of working with start-ups and large companies alike” notes Drlik.

The MDDC is a not-for-profit British Columbia society whose mandate is to advance the collaborative development, evaluation and commercialization of need-oriented medical technology.  The MDDC operates a 13,000 sq. ft. multitenant facility near Vancouver General Hospital, BC’s largest hospital. Its collaborators include private sector companies, the Vancouver General Hospital, other hospitals and health care institutions, and universities and advanced educational institutes.
