PORTLAND, OR – Home Dialysis Plus, Ltd (HD+) announces a strategic partnership with StarFish Medical (Victoria, BC) to provide product development and system integration services for its home hemodialysis unit. The partnership will dramatically accelerate the development cycle and time to market for the system.
Intended to offer patients the option to experience nightly nocturnal treatment, the HD+ system is expected to meet the needs of patients and caregivers with a cost-effective treatment option that easily integrates into their daily lives.
“With an increasing focus on home healthcare as an affordable and efficient treatment option, HD+ expects to offer patients the ability to track and manage their treatment more effectively and with improved results,” says Michael Baker, CEO, HD+.
The HD+ system is intended to provide patients with a slower, gentler nocturnal dialysis treatment that will reduce their post-treatment recovery time. Utilizing patented MECS technology and HP inkjet technology, the system is also expected to provide a smaller, more intuitive and cost-contained option than current dialysis solutions.
“We are excited to partner with HD+,” says Scott Phillips, President, StarFish Medical. “This project is a perfect match for the comprehensive technology development, product design and system integration skills at StarFish. We are delighted to be able to contribute to the success of this important new company and their breakthrough technology.” HD+ is the fourth new StarFish client this year in the areas of nephrology and hematology.
