
Senior Project Manager – Early–Stage Electromechanical Product Development
StarFish Medical is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex electromechanical product development projects from concept through design transfer and manufacturing readiness.
We design and build medical devices, laboratory equipment, and other advanced hardware systems that integrate mechanical, electrical, and software components. Candidates with experience leading early-stage, first-of-kind product development programs in robotics, automation, advanced equipment, or medical device development are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage early-stage through development-phase product programs for complex electromechanical systems
- Lead cross-functional engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, software, and design)
- Ensure projects meet scope, schedule, and budget targets
- Oversee early and mid-stage design reviews, risk management, and development-phase regulatory alignment (ISO 13485 or equivalent)
- Support design transfer and manufacturing readiness, including collaboration on ECR/ECO processes and vendor engagement
- Driving schedules, risks, and trade-off decisions in a fast-moving, innovation-focused environment
- Partner with clients to align technical decisions with business goals
- Contribute to PMO improvement
Qualifications
- Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related discipline
- 10+ years of experience, with a minimum of 3 or more years leading early-stage electromechanical or hardware product development programs
- Experience working in regulated product development environments (medical devices, automation, advanced equipment, or similar)
- Strong understanding of system architecture, cross-discipline integration, technical trade-offs, and product realization
- Familiarity with design transfer and manufacturing readiness in regulated environments
- PMP certification is an asset, not required
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills
Salary
Base Salary: USD 110,000 – 160,000 annually
Base salary may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
Annual variable compensation: Target of 5 -10% of base salary, tied to goal achievement
Additional Compensation: Employees are eligible for a profit-sharing program
