A poster titled Evaluation of Lidocaine Content and Delivery from Latex Elastrator Bands Using LC-MS, GC-MS and HPLC Techniques co-authored by StarFish Medical Biotech Manager, Nick Allan, will be presented at the 102nd Canadian Chemistry Conference and Exhibition, Quebec, QC 2019.
Castration is an important tool in modern agriculture helping producers to manage their livestock performance, along with animal health and safety. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic that is often injected during castration procedures to help manage pain. The Wulff lab has worked with Nick Allan in a NSERC Engage project to evaluate the amount of lidocaine loaded into different sized castration bands using GC-MS, LC-MS and HPLC techniques, and these results will be summarized and presented.
