StarFish mechanical engineering co-op, Zachariah Mears, is a mentor for the Atom Smashers (team 7287) from Esquimalt High School, Greater Victoria School District #61. Zach used the StarFish Medical Employee Community Sponsorship program to fund a $250 contribution to the team. Congratulations to the team and Zach for to inspiring students to enter careers in fields such as science, technology, engineering, and math. FRC teams are challenged to design, build and program a robot in a six week period. Working alongside professional engineers and other community mentors, students learn valuable technical and interpersonal skills, in a hands-on team environment.
