Scott Phillips
Scott holds a degree in Engineering Physics from the University of British Columbia. Prior to starting StarFish, he worked in diverse areas such as lithium battery development and manufacturing, UV spectroscopy instrumentation and hi-fi audio speakers. Under his leadership StarFish has grown into a diverse professional organization with clients around the world and 100% focus on medical devices. Scott is a past Chair and current member of the LifeSciences British Columbia board, member of the 2022 VIATEC Board of Directors, Fellow of The Canadian Academy of Engineering, winner of the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ 2017 Pacific Awards Technology category, 2017 recipient of the VIATEC Technology Champion award, and volunteers with Junior Achievement, Entrepreneurs Organization, and University of British Columbia.
Arpita Chatterjee
Arpita is a seasoned finance executive with over 20 years of experience. She has led global Finance, IT and HR functions in multinational companies across industries. In her most recent role, Arpita was the Finance leader for Jubilant Draximage. She led the specialty pharma company during a period of rapid growth and change involving innovation and expansion, both organic and inorganic. Her strengths include setting up strategic roadmaps for sustainable growth and excellence in operational execution. An ardent traveler with a passion for Astronomy, Arpita is a CPA in Canada and a CA in India.
Lynne Lowry
Lynne is a seasoned Business Development Executive in the medical diagnostic industry. Skilled in Sales Management, Sales, Medical Devices, Marketing Management, and Market Analysis, she has held multiple roles in the diagnostic, life science and medical device space in her 30 year career. Prior to joining StarFish Medical, Lynne consulted for product development firms and led global business development teams for Invetech and IDEX Health and Science. A start up entrepreneur with a passion for cycling, Lynne holds a B.S. in Education from the University of Kansas. VIEW VIDEO PROFILE
Michael Lubben
Michael leads all aspects of StarFish Medical device design from conceptual ideation to manufacturing transfer. He joined StarFish in 2008 and led both Mechanical Engineering and Project Management prior to heading Product Development in 2016. He has contributed to the development of medical products ranging from hemodialysis treatment to intracardiac ultrasound. Before joining StarFish, Michael worked in product development for Ballard Power Systems and 3M’s Optical Systems Division.
Kathryne Young
Kathryne Young leads the Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams at Starfish Medical. Kathryne has over 18 years’ experience in supply chain and program management in electronics manufacturing at companies including Creation Technologies, Xantrex Technology, and Solectron. Her passions include developing people’s leadership, implementing lean strategies, and developing efficient and effective processes to support client needs. VIEW VIDEO PROFILE
Helen Simons
Helen Simons has over 15 years experience in product development. She has worked on a wide range of Medical Device and IVD products, from inhalers and injection devices to phototherapy devices and ventilators. Her experience includes project managing product developments and providing quality and regulatory guidance for the US, EU and Canadian markets. Prior to StarFish, Helen worked at companies including Sagentia, Cambridge Design Partnership, and GHD. She holds a Master’s Degree in Engineering from Durham University, Durham, England. Pamela Potts
Pamela leads our HR team and oversees all people processes and StarFish’s award winning culture. “We give people the opportunity to do the best work of their lives” is not just a saying to her. She focuses on ensuring that all employees at StarFish are able to perform at their best. Pamela transitioned into HR from accounting and is a former CPA. She is an ICF-certified coach and SPHR. Jordon Dagg
Jordon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and has been a Technology Leader for over 20 years. He effectively led global teams with Schneider Electric and implemented technology initiatives that have contributed to the growth and integration of various organizations. Jordon possesses a strong background in utilizing technology to streamline operations, enhance productivity, and drive innovation. He has worked with large, medium, and small companies to align IS/IT strategies with overall business objectives which resulted in significant cost savings, improved efficiency, and next generation systems. Throughout his career, Jordon has championed successful implementations of enterprise-wide software systems, resulting in efficient data integration, improved process flow and, enhance customer service.
Anthony Annibale
Anthony is a seasoned product development and commercial leader within healthtech, including medical devices, pharmaceuticals, cell therapy, and life science diagnostics. With over 25 years of experience, he has worked with startups and large multinational clients to define product and service strategies, market access, and commercialization plans. He is a strong advocate for user-centered research and design thinking to create innovative solutions that have a significant impact in the marketplace. Anthony is responsible for driving the strategic direction and growth of several of our key accounts, as well as expanding our presence in healthcare verticals. His expertise in market strategy, innovation consulting, and product commercialization is critical to our mission of driving innovation and growth for our clients and our company.
David Dobson
David Dobson has over three decades of product development experience in a variety of corporate and consulting organizations. He has developed medical devices and consumer products, and managed international product design and engineering consultancies. David now applies his development experience and extensive knowledge of medical device and life science markets to business development. James Fox
James Fox is an engineer, growth strategist, and business development professional. A founder of a medical device start-up operating in point of care diagnostics, he also has technical leadership experience in large corporate and consultative environments, with crossover experience in the highly regulated aerospace and industrial robotics spaces. James supports clients in finding pathways to solve critical technical challenges, aligning development strategies to funding and market needs, and in delivering transformative results for patients.
