StarFish Medical receives 2018 VIATEC Community Champion award

Scott Phillips accepts the Community Champion award

June 18, 2018  (Victoria, BC) – StarFish Medical received the 2018 VIATEC Community Champion award for outstanding charity efforts throughout the year at the June 15, 2018 Annual VIATEC Technology Awards ceremony in Victoria BC. A record breaking total of 54 finalists were honoured, with 16 recipients receiving new robot trophies (designed by Russell Papp), at the elaborate show. Attendance ballooned to over 1000 guests making it one of the largest celebrations of its kind in the nation.

In accepting the award, StarFish Medical CEO and Founder, Scott Phillips, noted “The tech industry is special in Victoria because we all support each other.  Tech is now the largest industry in Victoria and that success comes with social responsibilities.  Whatever your cause, I encourage everyone to step up their game.”

VIATEC (Victoria Innovation, Advanced Technology and Entrepreneurship Council), started in 1989.
