VICTORIA, B.C., December 1, 2014— Mat Ras Ph.D., joins StarFish Medical as a Regional Business Development Manager, based in Irvine, California. He brings over 20 years of experience in the Diagnostics, Life Sciences, and Drug Discovery markets.
Dr. Ras has held hands-on positions as Vice-President of product development at Thermo Fisher Scientific, Senior Scientist at Johnson & Johnson, Principal Investigator and Deputy Director at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories, and Senior Advisor at Carl Zeiss & Roper Scientific. In addition to his duties for StarFish Medical, Dr. Ras is Director, Engineering & Programs for the Neovux incubator in Irvine, California.

Dr. Ras has worked extensively in discovering new technologies, determining market needs, developing prototype systems, beta testing of systems, producing commercial products, and marketing. “From concept all the way to commercialization, I’m delighted to have an opportunity to contribute in my new role”, adds Dr. Ras. “Joining StarFish Medical in a Business Development role not only draws upon my experience in the medical device industry, but also it enables me to leverage my position at Neovux.”
