NPI Project Manager – Victoria
The NPI Project Manager will manage client relationships and own the product’s performance, costs, and timelines to deliver the complete product experience and ensure client satisfaction. The ability to foster and build relationships, actively listen, solicit critical information, and respond to technical engineering requirements and client feedback is essential to the position’s success.
The role will focus on bringing StarFish and all its departments together with our clients and vendors to ensure timely and successful product launches, low—to medium-volume production, ongoing engineering changes, and cost-reduction activities through the commercialization process. The NPI Project Manager will motivate diverse, cross-functional teams in a creative and collaborative consulting environment. Reporting to the Director of Program Management, the NPI Project Manager oversees strategic plans for the successful commercialization and ongoing post-transfer support of our client’s products.

Salary & Benefits
The annual base salary for this role is listed below.
Location
Victoria, Ontario.
Base salary range is between
$86,254.08 – $107,817.60CAD. Annual variable compensation tied to goal completion targets of 5-10% of the base salary. Employees are also eligible to earn profit sharing. Candidates with strong abilities may be considered for a different position with increased compensation.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Serve as clients’ primary point of contact, fostering trust-based solid relationships.
- Ensure overall client satisfaction by ensuring the customer experience meets or exceeds StarFish standards.
- Establish a deep understanding of the client’s strategic direction and work to align and support all activities required for our client’s success.
- Lead and coordinate project activities, working toward milestones and ensuring alignment with project plans and goals.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Product Development, Quality Assurance, Regulatory, and Production, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Maintain a focus on quality throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and internal quality control processes.
- Plan and coordinate client deliverables and product shipments with the Manufacturing team.
- Oversee all product improvements that align with customer needs, such as cost reduction, reliability improvements, product quality improvements, obsolescence, regulatory changes, and other design enhancements.
- Single point of contact for customers concerning adjudicating change requests, including jigs & fixtures, manufacturing equipment, DHR updates, shipments, NCRs, deviations and RMAs.
- Ensure sustaining and design change control activities are quoted accurately and completed on time and within budget.
- Oversight of the design transfer process from product development to manufacturing engineering, including launch gates.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency.
- Develop, negotiate, and execute supply agreements with our clients.
- Responsible for project health and financial reporting, including ownership of BOM costing and quoting.
What You Bring To The Team
- 5+ Years of experience in NPI Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Manager, Product Management or Project Engineering roles with product responsibility and ownership.
- Degree or diploma in Engineering or related fields or relative experience in similar fields.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written.
- Strong planning, relationship building, and negotiation skills required to create win/win situations for our customers and our company.
- Innovative problem-solving skills and proven adaptability.
- Demonstrated ability to balance numerous competing priorities.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft), experience with SharePoint and MRP software.
- Experience working in a consultancy environment would be considered an asset.
- Experience working within an ISO environment would be considered an asset.
