Perimeter

StarFish Contribution

Perimeter engaged StarFish in 2014 to develop an Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) imaging device for use during surgical procedures to confirm safe cancer margins on excised tissue. StarFish created a benchtop prototype which led to OTIS 1.0, their first approved OCT scanning system.

In 2017, the team created OTIS 2.0, a fully integrated cart-based system with a consumable for handling tissue samples during scanning. In 2020/21 StarFish aided in transfer to production of the final cart and consumable designs for Perimeter’s OCT Imaging
System (v2.1) release to market.
