WSJ PRO: AI Helps Small Medical-Device Makers Punch Above Their Weight

July 3, 2019

StarFish Medical COO, John Walmsley, describes how we use AI in software development and testing in The Wall Street Journal Pro article titled AI Helps Small Medical-Device Makers Punch Above Their Weight published July 3, 2019. Sub-headed “Algorithms help companies cut costs and get products to market faster“, the article examines how smaller makers of medical and dental devices are using artificial intelligence to cut development costs, release products faster and figure out which of their wares to promote to maximize sales.

Walmsley and Julie Charlestein, chief executive of Premier Dental Products, were interviewed and featured in the article.

“Our focus on AI is on managing our constraints to optimize the space for innovation. In terms of the way we run business, it’s still early days,” said John Walmsley, chief operating officer at StarFish.
