Sharing industry expertise with the next generation of medical device engineers

Victoria BC (January 3, 2019) StarFish Medical announces that it is engaging with the Biomedical Engineering (BME) program at University of Victoria to provide instructors for a new course offering for Spring 2019.

BME401C – Human Factors and Usability Engineering for Medical Devices will cover the regulatory framework and regulatory standards for developing medical devices. Human factors associated with biomedical device design, including ergonomics and usability, the concept of a usability study and clinical trial, and Safety and Risk Assessment and Management are among the topics that will be discussed.  Case studies of existing medical devices will be interspersed in the course.
